Christopher Haatuft
Chef a Lysverket* (Bergen, Norway)

Christopher Haatuft is a Norwegian chef who has made a significant mark on the international gastronomic scene with his distinctive focus on sustainable cuisine and the use of local ingredients.
Born in Bergen, a coastal city renowned for its rich culinary tradition, Haatuft developed a deep love of gastronomy from an early age. After completing his culinary training in Norway, Haatuft embarked on a culinary journey across Europe, working in some of the most prestigious restaurants.
In 2013, Christopher Haatuft opened Lysverket, which is located in a renovated industrial environment and emphasises a focus on local and sustainable ingredients. Haatuft's cuisine is characterised by simplicity and elegance, combining modern techniques with traditional ingredients to create dishes that capture the essence of contemporary Scandinavian cuisine.
Christopher also runs the MatTak project with local gardener Sigurd Boasson. Their aim is to spread knowledge about growing food and finding solutions to the problems caused by climate change. The idea is to grow food on rooftops all over the city to mitigate the effects of torrential rain, while supplying Bergen's restaurants and residents with local produce.
